It ships as two cooperating extensions: install the Viva.com Payments Manager addon first (it holds your credentials, runs the hosted checkout, receives webhooks and runs the auto-billing cron), then the gateway extension (the Pay button clients see). The gateway won't install without the manager addon.
Every payment is verified server-side, webhook handling is idempotent, and a verification handshake ensures duplicate or spoofed notifications are ignored — so an invoice is never double-paid or falsely marked paid.
